This equipment is the perfect solution to hanging dry wall ceilings or the like, when strenght is only part of the problem. I put in a new bead board ceiling on my porch and even with a second set of hands from a friend, we could not have kept the 25-20 lbs. of 4' X 8' bead board in place to screw it into 2X4s on the ceiling. These poles were the perfect solution. Additionally, using them to enclose a small room while I sanded joint compound kept the mess enclosed in a way that drop clothes could not do. I highly recommend these.

I used this when I needed a hand supporting the cross ties of our deck trellis while I repaired the side supports. This was an impossible task to try alone with the wisteria vines restricting movement. This was the perfect solution. When finished, I took the support bar inside to help secure the latches on our double-hung windows - a dreaded job to do single handed. Now I can manage myself. Well worth the money for someone faced with tasks requiring more than two hands.

I used this in a repair project inn my home and it worked very well to hold things in place on the ceiling while I was putting up permaneent supports. I could not have completed this project by myself without this third hand.

Bought 3, one for me and two for my daughter who is a Home repair contractor. I use for minor repairs on home; she uses for dry wall, crown molding, etc. Both of us work alone so extra hands are a God send.

I use the third hand mostly for holding light fixtures (florescent lights) in place. also when installing recessed housings in existing ceilings, to hold a box or bucket against the ceiling while I cut the opening from the attic, when possible to get into the attic. This prevents unwanted material from falling on everything below. I have been using it, today for holding conduit in place against the ceiling to mark and secure. The one thing I would like would be some way to lock or hold the pad in a particular position, because when it is holding something in place and you need to move the item, it can very easily tilt and the item fall.

I had just changed the brake pads on my compact car and put everything back together. During the test drive, I realized there was air in the lines, and the car couldn't be driven without bleeding them. With no one to help me sit in the driver's seat and pump the brakes, I remembered the "3rd hand" I had just received as a Christmas gift from my wife. I was able to kneel at the back wheels, one at a time, and extend the 3rd hand to the perfect length to where I could depress the brake with one arm and bleed the lines with the other hand. What a great tool! I'm eager to see what else I can use it for. Thanks Duluth!
