Toughest Gloves I've Found Yet

By Kevin

from St Louis

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

I've been searching for durable work gloves for years and tired of going through various brands & prices nearly every month so I thought I'd try these out. I bought these and a lesser Duluth version (they were on clearance!) in June and I still have them both. They've been used for everything from clearing brush and cutting logs to building retaining walls, brushing off various types of gravel & sand, and scraping compost out of a wheelbarrow.

I've seen comments about fitting issues and I'm not sure what to say. I prefer a tighter glove as it is and they do break in after wearing for more than a half day of raking leaves. There is also mention of fraying threads but running a lighter over them to seal the thread solves that problem. They're WORK gloves. They're not supposed to be pretty all the time.

            • Rough Outdoors Work

Glove fit is critical to me because I work outdoors with machinery--tractor, log splitter, etc. If fingers are too long they will get caught in moving parts .The fit perfectly with no extra material (fingers) to get caught in these moving parts. Cutting splitting and stacking firewood is one of the toughest jobs for my gloves. Simply put--I have found NO glove that lasts longer than Duluth Work Gloves. Best work glove I ever had!! Worth every penny.

                        • Better grip
                        • Hand protection

Over the years, I have purchased 6 pairs of these gloves. My work is done in an office, so when it comes time to do yard work or home repairs, hand protection is important. I also rely upon them during Duck Season. Traveling out to the blind in the dark, in a marsh populated by poisonus spiders and other hazards requires reliable hand protection. The gloves fit great. They are easily washable. An absolutely brilliant product.

                        Runs very small

The size chart says 9-10" palm measurement is size Large. My palm is 9", so I ordered a Large. Way, way too small. I exchanged for a XL, which cost another $6.95. Still too small. So I have $27.00 into a pair of gloves that are too small. Bummer. Beware these gloves.

These gloves are tried and true tough. Take my word for it. I do mechanical demolition, which means my job is unforgiving on weak clothing. Example. Generic work gloves typically last me about a day and a half. Two on an easy day. I finally killed my first pair after two months of abusive brutality (sledge hammering, jack hammering, carrying cut pipes and duct work with sharp edges). Might not sound like much but two months on my job and they'll last any regular guy years and years if not a lifetime. They were SO COMFORTABLE and TOUGH I did not hesitate to order another pair immediately.

I use these gloves on a farm on a daily basis. I have tried various brands and they have only lasted 3 months, then they get holes in them. I have great expectations that these will last much longer. Will update my rating as time goes on.

thought these gloves would last forever but the seams on the fingers come apart - still lots of good glove left but can't use them with fingers exposed - very disappointing - first Duluth product I have had trouble with
