Comments about Duluth Trading Fire Hose Gear Bag:

I needed an alternative for traveling on trains to and from Work and this bag fills the bill easily. When it first came in I was surprised because it didn't look that big in the online images. It works great though to carry all I need for my day and it is great! The only suggestion I might make to improve this is to have a flap over the zippers to protect them during rains.

As a contractor there are a few things you need every time you make a site visit... Tablet, tape measure, gloves, flashlight, safety glasses etc. This is the best way to keep your essentials with you. Also great when switching rigs.

NOT big enough for a hardhat and a tablet together.

Comments about Duluth Trading Fire Hose Gear Bag:

The fire hose bag is perfect for working out of my car. It has lots of room, is durable, and great organizing pockets. I would make 3 recommendations: The bottom could be stiffer, the shoulder strap could be wider with more padding, and show this bag under women's bags, not just the men's section.

My brother is a rugged outdoorsy type who needed a good sturdy bag to carry a variety of gear and clothing in. He was thrilled with this bag and I knew he would be. After looking at dozens of other options elsewhere, I concluded this bag to be the most multifunctional and sturdy.

I use this bag for my RV camping trips. It is just the right size for carrying my CPAP and for carrying clothes and toiletries to and from the bath houses. When not in use it will collapse down for easy stowage. It is a rugged bag and should provide long service.

Comments about Duluth Trading Fire Hose Gear Bag:

I travel about 150 nights per year and this is my "go to" bag for my computer, periodicals and books. If my trip is one or two nights, then I leave my roller bag at home and pack everything in this bag. After about 60 days of use, I am generally satisfied. However, one of the D rings that hold the strap wants to rotate and I'm fearful that, eventually, the narrower support for the leather will cause the leather to rip. More annoying, though, is that the straps won't stay adjusted. After about 12 city blocks of walking (or walking from the "D" councourse at ATL to Ground Transportation) I have to stop, take the bag off my shoulder and readjust the straps. My guess is that the material is about 2 mm too thin. Not enough to make me take advantage of Duluth's excellent "return if not satisfied" policy, but annoying nonetheless. I have an idea about inserting a strip on denim to solve the problem.
I also added a sheepskin to the shoulder strap (like you would use for your vehicle's shoulder strap) to make carrying the bag more comfortable.
All in all a solid "B+" but, with a little re-engineering this bag could be solid "A."

Comments about Duluth Trading Fire Hose Gear Bag:

Very nice and useful bag - I am glad they came up with a black version with brown leather trim. It can really be stuffed, and it also makes a great carry-on, even on those small "puddle-jumper planes, since it can fit easily in the over head or under the seat. The only things that I would want to add would be some small feet on the bag and perhaps a fancier version that was entirely made of black cloth and leather - that would be a really nice and dressy addition to the line!
