Best Pants Ever!!

By KT

from Duluth, MN

Pros

  • Flattering Fit
  • Perfect weight fabric
  • Super comfortable

Cons

    Best Uses

Kudos to Duluth Trading Co for making a killer pair of women's functional work pants that are also cute enough to wear to the office! I was highly impressed that every single pair I bought (1 of each color) fit true to size with no inconsistencies. And Ladies - I have to share that an unknown, or perhaps unstated benefit of these pants is the very deep, 2-layered cargo pocket on the left side. This nifty pocket can discreetly hide an arsenal of tampons if you are working out in the field or under conditions where you are not carring a purse. These pants look great with a pair of Andina ankle boots.

I have 5 dogs and do a lot of walking, gardening, etc... These pants are great as I can wear them around the house, out to walk the dogs, then go out to dinner and they still look smart. I love the rise on the them. The size seems perfect and they have the slightest amount of give but not so much that they get sloppy after wearing them for a few hours like some pants. I like the new style with the sleeker pockets. I have 3 pair and plan to stock up so I never am without them. These are my new go to pants!

I absolutely love these pants, and have several pair. I found the fit to be true to size(I wear a size 4, ordered that size, and they fit perfectly), I love that they don't cling to tightly anywhere they shouldn't! So many pants these days are too tight in the hips and thighs, these are perfect for me. I wish they came in dark navy so I could wear them as part of my work uniform. I also own a pair of the older style of cargo pants and find the pockets on those more useful than on the modern, but I much prefer the fit of the modern style. Sure wish they came in dark navy, it would make my work day so much more comfortable!!

        I love these pants!!!

        By ABCordes

        from Fresno, CA

        Pros

        • Comfortable
        • Durable
        • Easy to clean
        • Lots of pockets
        • Stretchy

        Cons

          Best Uses

          • Teaching
          • Working

I am a science teacher, so I have to look nice and also be comfortable. These pants do the job. I especially love the pockets. The side pocket is the perfect size for my cell phone, which I use to communicate with my fellow teachers. I can have it on vibrate, so it can ring and I can feel it against my leg instead of it having to ring during class. The pocket on the other side (for pokey things) is perfect for me to clip my radio. And I don't have to worry about ruining my pants when we go do outdoor, dirty projects! These pants are totally functional, look nice, and durable. I would like a few more colors so that I could wear them with every outfit!

          great overall, rise too short

          By Sh-la_m

          from New York City

          Pros

          • Durable
          • Great for travel
          • Trim Enough Fit
          • Useful pockets

          Cons

          • Shirts Won't Stay Tucked
          • Short rise

          Best Uses

I measure a size 4, and sizing seems accurate. I prefer the cut of the older style flex cargos, which was straighter and had a slightly higher rise, but the trim pockets in this style are better. My armachillo shirts, which I love, will absolutely not stay tucked in with this cut, and the pants end up looking a little too masculine and sloppy when I try to tuck them in. If I can go untucked, the look is OK, but these pants have the potential to be very tidy-looking with a belt - if only the rise were an inch higher.

The fabric remains durable and minor spills easily sponged off. Easy to wash, and gets softer over time.

            "Not really cargo" pants

            Cons

            • Pockets Inside The Leg

            Best Uses

            • Loading dock
            • Work

I have probably 6 pairs of the older cargo pants with the pockets outside the pants leg. While I agree that they are a bit bulky, they perform really really well. We have to leave our bags behind at work. The older model let me keep a small wallet in one pocket and a phone and some pens and markers in a pocket on the other leg. Both pockets were wide enough to get your hand in, and had a snap top that could be tucked inside. These new pockets are not easy to get smartphones in and out of and if you have to shove a drawing or paperwork in as well till you get back from a job site it comes back folded to useless. Please offer the choice of exterior pockets again. These pants hold up well for a year or so of washing and will be sorely missed.

            Awesome Pants!

            • Sturdy

            Cons

              Best Uses

              • CASUAL WEAR

I usually find that comfortable pants aren't very durable, and vice-versa. That's not the case here. This is a good sturdy fabric with just the right amount of stretch to move with me, in a comfortable cut.

The pockets are great, too. They don't bulge out, but they hold plenty. The two top pockets, where I put most things to keep them handy, are nice and roomy. The zippered pocket on the left leg is a nice discreet place to carry certain feminine necessities if you don't feel like dragging a purse around. And there are more pockets I haven't even used yet!

My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer them in the Pewter color. Seems to me when you have several different versions of the same thing, it would make sense to offer all the styles in all the colors.

I've been wearing Carhartts for a long time. But these might be my new favorite work pants. They fit perfectly, they're just stretchy enough to not bind, and they're somewhat "covert" in appearance.

My only complaint is that the pocket on the right leg is too deep and too narrow for multi-purpose use. My pens, phone, etc. get lost in there, so I end up not using it. I'd rather have a shallower pocket, which would make them more functional for me.

Please make them in more colors! I really like the coffee color. However, my uniform shirts are dark blue and dark green, so I'd love to have these pants in tan or gray.

Trying to find good pants for excavating is usually frustrating. Most are too thin, lacking a little stretch for comfort, and just plain made for "indoor-only" activities. These pants are perfect! They are made to fit women; the fabric is durable, but not too heavy; just enough stretch for kneeling on the ground or climbing over logs; and warm enough for 40-degree days, but still comfortable when it hit 70 degrees too.

I bought a pair of these for my girlfriend because she liked the firehose pants I had. She normally wears a size six so that is what I ordered. Those were too tight. I used the EZ return label and got her a size 8, those fit perfectly. The thing she likes the most about them are the pockets. It seems that most womans pant's/jeans have tiny little pockets that are pretty much useless for holding anything. These pants have hip pockets deep enough to easily hold an Iphone, and she likes the little accessory pocket at the knee, that can also hold an Iphone and is where she usually keeps hers.
