Love this jacket! I bought this to replace my popular name brand work jacket, and I like yours much better. The other brand is stiff and feels awkward when I move, yours moves freely no matter what I'm doing. The firehose material is just as tough as any other material I've worn, yet it is supple enough to wear as a casual jacket. Great product!

This jacket has been the best work jacket I have ever owned. I have had this jacket for over a year and a half now and thought that this is a good enough trial period to write an honest review. The problem I've always had with wearing a jacket while working is that they are baggy and get in the way of a tool belt. I am a self employed electrician and most of my work requires me to wear a tool belt. This jacket (while zipped up) is tight enough that it doesn't sag over the belt which would get in the way of getting tools out of the bag and snag on them while I work. The fire hose material is not only warm and flexible, it is incredibly durable. I ordered the black jacket and after many washes, it has not faded or shrunk. There is also no visible signs of wear or fraying.

I also feel confident wearing such a good looking jacket! It does not have a hood, but instead has a collar that zips up around the neck. When it is zipped up all the way, it seals in the heat and keeps my neck warm on windy days. This also is nice when considering that if you're wearing this during work, you don't want a bulky hood hanging off the back. There is just the right amount of pockets with this jacket. Not too many, not too few. I probably use the outer chest pocket the most, since it is perfectly sized for my cell phone and has a zipper that keeps it in place. This pocket is also great because it lets me leave my cell phone in a outer pocket without having to unzip the jacket to get the phone out on a cold day. I also appreciate the extra material on the back that covers the "plumbers crack" while bent over. Since I'm 6'4" 230 lbs., I've often had a problem with shirts and jackets being to short, but this jacket is perfect! Finally, while working over my head, the jacket doesn't come up and freeze out the belly! The gusseted armpits and back allow the arms of the jacket to move freely and not raise up and twist around the core of the jacket.

Overall, this is the best jacket I've had to work in! My only hope is that when this one wears out, it will still be available for me to get again and again!

I bought this coat as a gift for my brother, the farmer. During a week of -10F days he said it "was warm enough" for a full day of chores. From a laconic guy, that's a glowing endorsement! He is 6'1" 190 pounds and usually layers with hoodie sweatshirts; the Tall XL was the right size of him to have enough room and enough sleeve length. Because he likes it so well, I bought another Tall XL for my 6'3" brother-in-law for his farm chores and he likes his coat too. He will wear his to replace the $40 coats he usually wears out every season.

            Versatile jacket

            • Everyday

My "C" name jacket had a number of places that were worn through and my wife ordered this jacket as a replacement.

Overall, I like it. It feels sturdy and seems like it will last longer than my previous jacket. Great freedom of movement with no binding in the armpits or shoulders. Pockets work and the placement makes sense. Stops wind dead and feels warm. I have noticed that fencing and wire does not catch on shell.

Drawbacks that I have encountered are mostly just annoying. The collar wants to stay up, but I hope this gets better with use. The sleeves are a bit skinny. This is a common issue for me with most clothing and it's not as bad as usual, but it's still on the skinny side so I don't feel comfortable if I have to do much layering.

The fit, except for the diameter of the sleeves, is very nice. This jacket is a tall size and the jacket length and sleeve length are good. If you're a tall guy with large arms, it might be a little tight in the sleeves.

Like everything else I've bought from Duluth Trading, the coat is well made. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The only complaint is that it's sometimes a pain in the neck to get the zipper to catch.

It was a nice jacket. The Iron Ore color was very cool. I ordered a Large Tall and the sleeve length was spot on. Loved the pockets expecially the handwarming front pockets. Very nice jacket...but yes, I did have to return it. Here's why: 1) even though I ordered a tall size, (I'm 6'3" and 190lbs) the jacket was just too short and barely covered my belt. Some would like this but I did not since I wanted the extra protection from the cold. 2) the fit accross the back of my shoulders was too tight and binding. 3) I guess I could have tried an XL Tall but the fit through the torso and stomach was perfect on the Large Tall and since there is no drawstring around the waist, I think sizing up would have been then too big. 4) I couldn't have layered a sweatshirt under this jacket because its a pretty close fit and when it tried it was too binding.
So in short (ha!) I returned it because it was too short and too tight in places that felt uncomfortable and since there is no drawstring around the waist, I didn't try a size bigger.
