Grandpa's tool box was like a treasure chest to me – a fond memory we set out to re-create as tribute to him and the craft he passed down to me. Unfortunately, a few of these Wooden Tool Boxes missed the mark a bit: a small scratch or sap stain in the finish, a trace of glue that squeezed out of the finger joints or a slight “tear out” marks on the tray handle from rough cutting. Minor flaws yes, but not the standard of perfection I know my grandfather held himself to. It’s crafted of thick knotty pine, with classic finger-jointed corners and a clear lacquer finish. Removable, felt-lined tray holds screws, nails, markers and small hand tools, while hammer, drill, level and larger tools sit securely below in the main compartment. The top of the box also acts as a top for the tray, so nothing falls out if the box is tipped. Hinges are brass; the rest of the hardware is brushed brass-plated steel, all with a nostalgic look.
