Not as warm as I expected.

      COMMENTS:

This jacket is not bad for the price if heavily discounted. I am 175 pounds 5'8" with a big chest and neck and the large fits me well. It is roomy in the torso and arms so a fleece under it is no problem. This is great because the jacket really isn't that warm. With "Platinum Thinsulate" and a Duluth rating of -15F I figured it would be pretty darn warm but it is not. I think my Whaleback jacket is warmer.

I went riding my motorcycle around town yesterday at about 50F and raining. Just a T underneath. I didn't get wet, but was chilly. Today I went riding and it was dry and 48-50F. I wore a Twin Harbors 200 weight fleece and a T underneath. It was still cool on my chest, not particularly warm anywhere else. Now this is just poking around, not out on the interstate or anything. I feel warmer in even lower temps when I ride with my Bear Hide 400 weight fleece and my Grab Fleece jacket over that compared to the lighter fleece and this snow machine jacket.

The chest pocket are OK but a little small and odd shaped inside as their interiors seems to compete for space with the air vent zips.

So not a bad jacket, though I could do without the zippered air vents - I never have use for those on ANY jacket. However it is not as warm as you might expect it would be given the Duluth rating. I have to wonder if maybe the contractor who built the jacket substituted some cheaper insulation that what the jacket was actually supposed to contain(?). The reflective piping seems to get a lot of attention at night, great when on a motorcycle.

One more thing, a previous poster said his was all black. Mine is the two tone like the picture, though the grey may be a little darker in color. Looks nice!

        COMMENTS:

This jacket kept me plenty warm while riding in Zero temperatures. I was very impressed and actually opened up the vents when it was 20 degrees out the next day. I wish the pants were not so expensive. Hard to compete at that price.

          COMMENTS:

I am normally a L or XL for hoodies just to give you a basic size to base this off. I ordered a Large at first fit perfectly with a t-shirt but a little snug with a hoodie, long sleeves, & a t-shirt. So I had exchanged it for an XL and it is slightly big with just a Shirt but after bundled up to go ride for a day in the U.P. of MI it should be the perfect size. I will be saving up to buy the entire winter outfit duluth has to replace my old stuff.

            COMMENTS:

The jacket is well constructed and warm. However, the online picture of the jacket depicts a stylish patter in the black portions of the jackets that doesn't exist. It does look like the photos of the model wearing the coat, just solid colors. Also, none of the pockets are large enough to hold a pair of bulky winter gloves. It should have a large exterior pocket to store your gloves and hat.
