    COMMENTS:

Received as a 28th birthday gift from my sister because I didn't have a good work jacket to wear in the colder temps. I work in distribution, and I like the lack of bulk with this coat, but the protection from the elements that it provides. I can move product easily without feeling hampered by extra material. In addition, it's relatively stylish for a work jacket. I can wear it out for the night if I'm going to dinner or a movie without feeling like I'm still wearing work clothes.

      COMMENTS:

This is a gift for my brother for Christmas but as soon as he knew it had arrived he had to try it on, he's worse than a kid but he loved it. He begged me to let him have it now but I'm making him wait for Christmas.

        COMMENTS:

This is not your average softshell. When I received it I went in the shower with it for two minutes (I know I'm crazy) and my t-shirt underneath was still dry as well as my wool hat I keep in one of the large pockets. It will still become heavier when fully soaked (like jumping in a river) and does not dry TOO quickly because it is not Gore-Tex but you WILL be dry underneath if caught in the storm. That said it breaks the wind very well also. I like it too much to make it my primary work jacket but the Force Nine plays this role very easily with its large pockets that can easily store my work gloves. It is not a "do it all' jacket and you should always have layer options on hand but this item is definitely very warm by itself with the micro fleece and the armpit gussets help a lot while being active. The zippers pulls are quality and are shaped well with grip on the backside which is a nice detail. I appreciate the fact that the sleeves are wide at the wrists with a hook and loop feature to accommodate a heavy duty work glove or snow glove (now excited for snowmobiling). The only small detail I would change about this jacket is making the main pockets with fleece lining which would be nice for barehands. Then again if your out there being active, working hard or recreating this wouldn't matter much anyway. Lastly this jacket looks good and breaks necks (because of all the head turning). The bear claw stands out and it's nice to have a change from your average Potagonia and Assteryx logos. If an M-65 field jacket and a grizzly got together by the fireside with a flask of good bourbon and a decent sunset.....9 months later the Force Nine Jacket would be the result. I personally have enjoyed this jacket very much. If it is sitting in your cart double click .

Fits great and looks even better. The only problem is that I don't care for the sleeve fasteners. They should fall under the cuff instead of the top.
