    More Jacket than Hoodie

    By Dakal

    Pros

    • Waterproof

    Cons

    • Bulky
    • Poor Fit

    Best Uses

    COMMENTS:

Good looking Hoodie, but unlike a regular hoodie this one can not be worn under a coat. It is bulky enough to work as a coat but not as warm. The pockets are completely undersized. There is no room for hands and definitely not enough room for storing gloves.

      COMMENTS:

This fits well. If you are somewhere between L and XL, as I am, I was most worried this XL jacket would be too large. On the contrary, it fits as I would hope an XL jacket to fit. There's some room, but it's not extreme. There's not too much of an excess if you are wearing a t-shirt underneath, yet it fits very well over a hoody. It's particularly useful in wet weather yet functional as a winter coat - especially with a hoody. The material is a bit stiff, the hood in particular tends to stand on it's own and doesn't move with my head. This can feel strange, especially when windy - it flaps back off my head with a good rush of wind. This is the first jacket I've felt the need to use the draw-string with, but when set to the right level, it will stay affixed as expected. Overall I'd give this jacket 4 out of 5 on a scale of wet and winter time jackets I've had. I can confidently say this jacket will only get better with use. It gets a boost considering how well it stacks on other clothing.

Good tough coat warm enough for working down to 30 degrees

        COMMENTS:

I bought this coat on a whim for something to wear between my usual fall wet weather coat and my more serious winter coats. (I live in Wisconsin.) This fits the bill perfectly. The heavy nylon exterior shed moderate rain and the thick fleece keeps me warm on walks in the park down to 30 or a bit lower with no wind.

The only bummer are the pockets, which are a little small/shallow and without snaps or zippers. They can hold a pair of moderate gloves or your bare hands and little else.

Lastly, it doesn't zip up real tight at the top, so you'll need a scarf or neck gaiter.

Oh yes, the hood is excellent with fleece on the inside.
