I work in an office so I need to be clean shaven and while I use an electric razor some of the time I need to shave with a blade at least 3 times a week, the shaving brush creates great lather, applies it smoothly and without irritation and sets me up for a smooth shave. I had a less expensive "department store"brush that lasted about a year before the handle broke off above the bristles, this one appears to be much sturdier and of better quality.

It's almost impossible to find a quality shave brush anymore that doesn't cost a small fortune. This is an excellent brush -- soft, yet durable. Great price for the quality of this item and the stand was an added bonus. Great product for men who still shave like men.

Got this for my husband and he LOVES it. He's burly and manly so I wouldn't have chosen this, but he saw it and expressed interest. LOVES LOVES LOVES it. It's more of a retro-kick to what shaving used to be like. He gets to treat himself to a shave with a nice brush and good lather and I think he actually enjoys taking the time to groom, smell good, and get cleaned up.

It is nice. I was a little disappointed that the handle and stand were just plastic, kind of cheap feeling, but I guess the badger hair is supposed to be what makes the cost a little high (at least for someone on a budget). The bristles are nice feeling, though and hubs will use it every work day.

I began using a brush about six months ago, so I decided to upgrade to a "better" brush as a Christmas gift to myself. I was not disappointed. The brush whips up a good lather, the bristles are both soft and firm. The best shave I have ever had! The only bad thing is I have to wait a whole day until I can shave again. I would higfhly recomend this product.

Have not noticed any bad odor. Had been using my grandfathers brush but it was down to its last few bristles. Now that I have a good brush, I have gone back to shaving most everyday instead of ever couple of weeks.
