COMMENTS:

This is a great pack. I often carry changes of clothes and shoes to work so that I can run afterward, along with a laptop, a book for the bus, lunch, and some odds & ends. Carry on sized luggage seems to be about the smallest bag I can get away with - especially in winter. This is a terrific commuter. I did add a florescent yellow patch to a loop at the top to help with visibility while cycling and crossing streets in the dark. It would be great if a couple of subtle reflective bits were included in the design.

I also hope to use it to travel to Scotland, UK, in August. I'm not sure this is going to work, because, while the bag is technically pretty big and has lots of space, it is divided into many small zippered and snapped pouches. This isn't intrinsically bad, but when I go to stuff, say, a roll-up blazer into it, that's going to use up quite a bit of the main pocket.

The construction is rock solid. The zippers are sturdy. The many, many pouches are secure. When on your back, it the mesh that hits your back and the structure are a perfect fit. It doesn't feel overwhelmingly huge sitting on your knees on public transit. If I'm able to get everything in there, I look forward to not standing out as your typical obvious big, confused American tourist on that U.K trip.

    COMMENTS:

I use this backpack everyday when riding my motorcycle to work. It holds my tablet, some paperwork, and my lunch. Sadly yesterday i laid the bike down in a freak accident but in the midst of the accident i tried to lay on my backpack as much as possible while skidding across the road. In my faint memory i remember rolling over it a couple times with a finishing slide across the pavement on the back pack. After i got off the road i looked at my backpack and it has minor scrapes and cuts, like me. Incredibly durable and after the wreck it still works fine! Not sure if i can warranty this incident or if i even want to. I have some sentimental value in the backpack now that its saved most of my back skin. I highly recommend it especially since it still works fine and my tablets completely fine.

      COMMENTS:

I do a lot of air travel and the bag holds a ton of stuff. Fits under the seat fully stuffed. It's my daily workhorse. A 17" full size Dell computer fits OK even a separate pocket of my tablet. Love the side pockets. Use one for the brick power supply the other for a Doxie scanner. Just the right number of pockets and not too many that you can never remember where your stuff is. The only issue is that the large top compartment flops down when you open the bag to access the computer. If you put too much heavy stuff in the top compartment and it's zipped open, all your stuff dumps out. This has happened more than once or twice hence 4 stars. The top compartment is large so I have a tendancy to put too many things in there. The bag holds up and is durable. Have had it for over two years and nothing has broken or even showing any signs of ware. the shoulder straps adjust quickly and are great when deplaning and adjusting while on the move. This is a much better bag than the many Columbia's, and other no-names I have discarded annually along the way. I would purchase again because of durability. Love-hate the top compartment. If I consider all the $35 ~ $50 bags I've gone through, I would say a 5 year payback.

Fix the hard to work zippers on the side pockets and I would have no complaints.
