Comments about Progressive Glasses - Progressive Reading Glasses:

I originally got these for work. I'm a bartender and the onset of presbyopia has made reading order tickets and other close-up tasks more difficult. However, ordinary readers made the far side of the restaurant a blur. I was trying to avoid the schoolteacher look of half-glasses.

The first pair arrived with one of the temples detached. I returned it and Duluth promptly replaced them. The second pair lost one of the temples after about two weeks. In the glasses I got, there are no screws, the temple hinges just "snap" (very lightly) into the lenses. While otherwise they're well-made, this is a very poor design choice. It will certainly help if you only pick them up by the lens rather than the temples.

However, they are VERY lightly-built. While this is comfortable, it was clear that they'd have a short lifespan even in a restaurant, let alone a workshop or worksite. Also, the bands for each diopter are very narrow; you can't be looking around a lot and still focus.

I retired the glasses to my desk at home, and just glue the temples back in every two or three months when they fall out (mind you, this is with delicate handling). I can't really say I think they merit the current price, and certainly not the twice-that which other reviewers say they've seen charged elsewhere.

Comments about Progressive Glasses - Progressive Reading Glasses:

I use these for viewing my computer, either desktop or laptop and then picking up paperwork and reading it up close. The two magnifications allow me to focus on both distances and not switch from one reading power to another. I bought this same pair from another e-tailer and they were almost twice the cost, for exact same brand. The glasses are high quality, not drugstore, and they must be stylish, since i've been receiving compliments from the younger group at work.

I use these while working. Half the time I am looking at a monitor and half the time I am reading paper. I no longer need to remove glasses to see the monitor. Fewer headaches.

Comments about Progressive Glasses - Progressive Reading Glasses:

Quality optics that transition effortlessly between close-in(i.e. tablet PC or work surface)and mid-range (like PC monitor or arms length) Had never worn bifocals or progressive readers but acclimated to these in less than a minute. Very lightweight and comfortable, but they are plastic and will scratch. Don't leave them loose in your pocket; use the pouch they come in or other eyeglass case.

One hinge screw would not stay tightened; lost it last time. Will replace screw and use locktite or something. No problem yet on second pair so will not prevent me from recommending.

$$$$ readers that keep falling apart

Comments about Progressive Glasses - Progressive Reading Glasses:

These glasses have no screws attaching the temple hinges to the frames, so they are always coming apart. [...] Otherwise these would be food readers.
