Comments about Women's Railroad Striped Overalls:

I bought these overalls for my wife, in the red (or pink) railroad stripe. She loves the look, which is a nice variation on plain old denim. Construction seems good. Fit is also good (I bought the "medium" and 31 inseam). She's a slim to average build, at 5'10" - recommended.

Overalls in colors are difficult to find. I love them for painting for Christmas. They will be covered with Santas, Sleighs, Christmas Trees, etc.along with lots of jewels and glitz.

Comments about Women's Railroad Striped Overalls:

They run large, but very comfortable. I would like the knee pads to go on the outside, so I can remove them without stripping. I like all the pockets, and the overalls are well constructed to take a lot of abuse. They are warm to wear in hot weather, but will be great when it cools down in the fall or spring. They wash very well. I like wearing them, although not in public, like some suggested.

Comments about Women's Railroad Striped Overalls:

I have worn overalls in my gardens for years, but I have never had a pair of overalls this comfortable. I can even comfortably ride my bike with them on. Some people would say they are too short, but I hate having extra fabric drag in the mud and I am too lazy to hem. I have already asked for another pair for a Christmas present!

Comments about Women's Railroad Striped Overalls:

First pair of overall I'v bought with the intent of using them for hard work. While the fabric is durable and the construction is very well done, I'll repeat what other women have said about these overalls. Yes, they are cute and if you don't won't to "do" anything in them except look the part, they will work. However, if you intend to make them earn their keep be prepared to be disappointed. As a seamstress myself, after the second wear it became obvious what the problem was. The pattern fit is not designed for women. I'll list the issues:

                      1. Slipping shoulder straps: They don't slip on me, but I can see why they would. The straps are too long and to adjust properly you have to take the buckle further back to where the strap begins to widen causing the material to fold and bunch up. The buckle can't properly hold that bulk of material and it begins to slip forward causing the straps to lengthen. This brings me to

                      2. You're adjusting those shoulder straps to get the overall's chest and waist in the right spot. If the pattern had been proportioned correctly they should already be pretty darn close to where they should be without having to significatly shorten the shoulder straps.

                      3. Because the overall bodice is off the mark and the shoulder straps are used to get those right, the legs become too short. This causes the leg to narrow sooner than it should making it too uncomfortable to bend the knee unless you hitch up the legs. I end up with a lot of exposed leg because of this. Standing straight, the legs hit just about the ankle. I'm "OK" with that since I'm wearing work boots but it would be better if the leg length were corrected to cover my legs slightly below the ankle.

                      4. Because the legs are now shortened due to the whole poor pattern design, the knee pad placement is too high. If I lower the leg by adjusting the shoulder straps to get the knee pad placement where it needs to be my shoulder straps slip because they are two long.

Duluth, you messed up. Two stars: material, construction Take the pattern back to the designer and it will become a 5 star item.
