    COMMENTS:

I'm glad I didn't read the negative reviews before I bought this lighter. Having trouble with other lighters that just won't work unless you use double/triple refined butane (like Colibri), that's what I use in the Turboflame. It has been used on three week-long camping trips for lighting stoves, lanterns and campfires and it has never failed to perform. I hope I didn't just luck out with this one because it has worked so well I'm ordering a second one.

    WORTHLESS

    COMMENTS:

Doesn't work, plain and simple. Got one as a gift at Christmas, and couldn't get it to light, not even once. I tried three different fuel brands, and none of them were able to generate a single flame. The package said the lighter would work at elevations of up to 10,000 feet, but where I lived at the time was 7,000 feet in elevation. I figured that might be the problem even though my high altitude supposedly was within the limits the product claimed. My wife called Duluth and they shipped out another one. It didn't work either. Not a single time. Well, in March, I moved to Florida (sea level) and I figured that it should work THERE even if it didn't work in high altitudes. Nope, it didn't. Neither lighter worked once, using any of the three fuels I tried. Not at 7,000 feet, not at sea level. DO NOT BUY THIS lighter!!

Works great - I know the trick!

          COMMENTS:

Follow the instructions! Also, mine wouldn't light and would sputter after filling. I checked that gas was coming out when I pressed the lever but the spark wouldn't catch a flame. ***To get mine to work, I adjusted the flame to MAX position. The lighter worked great. For me, the flame adjustment really doesn't operate and its not really needed. Just put it on max and you may be able to adjust it slightly lower to help conserve fuel. If you use lower flame settings, it blows itself out before it can light. Just set it on high and use it fine!

I've seen the negative reviews but mine works fine for me. Follow directions; Purge the air out before filling, turn the valve down when filling and back up when using. Mine even works with cheap Ronson butane.
