I use this straight edge razor along with a leather strop on a daily basis. I no longer have the frustration of clogging razors and buying new razors all the time.

    Straight razor

    By Maverick 45ACP

It is cheep for a reason. It is not razor sharp nor can you get a edge on it. The edge is ruff and has a curve on it so you cant even start to get it sharp. Dont buy is it will rip your beard off.

I was hopeing to actually use it when I got it but its not sharp enough to work for me it doesnt even cut my arm hairs. I took it to a professional knife sharpener and made it better. I supose if someone wanted a project they could make it work after they sharpened it.

I bought this razor to shave with and was very dissappointed that it was not shave ready. Have since found out that the sharpened angle wasn't even correct for a razor.

Beautiful little piece. Unfortunately it's stainless, not carbon steel so it's really not a shaver. After a great deal of honing, I was able to actually sort of shave with it--once, anyway. Nice for display, might be useful for learning the mechanics of straight wetshaving prior to purchasing a serious razor.

                Didn't work for me

                By Don

                from Rolla, MO

                Verified Buyer

Couldn't get it sharp enough to cut my beard at all. Gave up on the strop with aluminum oxide powder. Tried knife sharpener and still couldn't get enough of an edge to cut my beard. Thought it would be a cool Christmas gift so I bought extras that I need to return.

                • Decorative

This razor is for looks only. It's made of 440 Stainless Steel and requires professional honing before it can be used. Even after honing, it won't keep a consistent edge and you'll only hack up your face. If you're looking for a straight razor like your grandfather used, look for one made of high-carbon steel. You'll also end up paying more than $11.00 for it, too. Good straight razors are generally made in the U.S., England, Germany, Japan, France, and Spain. Stay away from razors made in India, Pakistan, and China.
