Not designed for warmth in the cold

By Southern Gal

from Ozark Mountains

About Me Casual Dresser

Pros

  • Many useful pockets
  • Stylish

Cons

  • Bulky
  • One-way zipper
  • Very thin; not warm like I'd expected

Best Uses

  • Casual Wear

COMMENTS:

I ordered this vest to wear for work outside and to be warm in colder weather. I live in the South, at about 1800 ft. elevation, so "cold" for me is usually 20's-30's. My goal was to have a vest to wear while cutting wood, mostly. It's pretty, and looks good on me, but it is very thin...has no fill, and I guess I should have caught that when looking at the description. It needs a two-way zipper, because when I sit down, this vest rides up until it sticks a good 2" above contact with the top of my shoulders, so it feels very bulky and like it's trying to wrap itself around my neck. :-) I considered keeping it for just casual wear, but I don't need it for that, so I'll be sending this one back. I was expected something else; I think I can find warmer vests, but most of them don't have all of the pockets. Maybe Duluth will consider making some changes to the design, or add another version of it to their line-up.

    COMMENTS:

Love this vest. It has lots of pockets and is longer than most, which makes it more comfortable and keeps the chill out. I love the color too. The duty olive/gold goes with so many things.

      COMMENTS:

I bought this vest for myself. I'm a farmer and a beekeeper, so I'm outside year round. I thought this would be a great addition to layering in the winter.
I normally wear an XL and ordered that size first. After trying it on, I decided to return the vest and get a L instead. I'm very happy with the size now and am sure I will get a great deal of wear out of it.

I like the spacious pockets. Looks great with black jeans, black top & boots. I'm always looking for olive green tops, sweaters etc, so this was ideal.
