      regret the purchase

      By arborgirl

      from ny

      Pros

      • Heavy duty zipper
      • Lots of pockets
      • Nice colors
      • Nice lining
      • Tough Fabric

      Cons

      • Arm Opening Very Narrow
      • Arms Cut Too High
      • Fabric Attracts Fur
      • Hand Warmer Pockets Small
      • Snug Fit In Hips

      Best Uses

      • The barn
      • The Garden

The coat is less than ideal, though it does do some things well, like the tough fabric that will not tear the first time it gets snagged by a tree bush or rose thorn. The coat is a bit heavy, but it is warm and does a good job of blocking cold wind.
The high narrow cut of the arm and shoulder is the biggest flaw. The ridge of the seam line is uncomfortably high under the arm. There's no room to add warmer layers below or to move and work in the coat.
Style is very work looking, yet still has a feminine silhouette. But, the fit issues really restrict it's utility.
The little hand warmer pockets are nice touch, but a bit high and small. The breast pocket is ridiculously high and small. Breast pockets that high need to have a side opening to be useful.
For the price, I am unhappy.

      Way better then carthartt

      By Mud the Instigator

      from Charity, VA

      Pros

      • Hood
      • Long Length
      • Lots of pockets
      • Snap Flaps
      • Soft lining
      • very warm

      Cons

      • Zipper

      Best Uses

      • Barn
      • Chillin By The Fire
      • Gardening
      • Outside work

I've been jealous of my boyfriend's Carthartt jacket with lots of pockets and a long flap that covers his butt so I went in search of one for me. The dude ones are all built for dudes and just not that flattering. Found a new ladies model, bought it, and broke the zipper pull in three days. Plus the fit was also super wierd. Was super stoked to have stumbled upon Duluth and their long ladies jacket... Bought it and LOVE it. Perfect for barn chores and general outside adventures. The zipper could still be heavier duty then it is, but so far its holding up just fine. The snaps on the flaps make it easy to start the zipper and the handwarmer pockets are a nice touch. I'm very happy with the quality and the design.

      uncomfortable fit

      By Datil Karin

      from Datil, NM

      Pros

      • Heavy quality
      • Well Made

      Cons

      • Hood too small
      • Pockets too small
      • Too Small In The Shoulder

      Best Uses

I really hoped this jacket would work for me. I like all of my other Duluth clothing. The jacket fit well everywhere except in the shoulder and under the arm. In those areas it was too tight and uncomfortable. When zipped up the coat wants to pull back against my throat sort of choking me. The hood is also very small, barely covering my ears. I like a winter jacket with a large generous hood, necessary in our windy, cold climate. The slits in the pockets are so small I can only barely get my ungloved hand inside. Would be impossible with a glove on. A next larger size might be a little better, but I don't want to take a chance and have to send it back, too. Thankfully, Duluth's return policy is a good one.

        Range Parka

        By Hilda

        from Harvard, IL

        Verified Buyer

        Pros

        • Nice hood
        • Tough
        • Wonderfully warm

        Cons

        • Larger Pockets Please

        Best Uses

        • Outside Chores

I'm not afraid to get my range parka dirty when I handle and feed the chickens and clean up the coop. It's so warm! It keeps me comfortable when we shovel snow in windy conditions. I would like to be able to stick my gloves in the side pockets more easily, but that's not a big issue.

I not only loved this jacket the first time I purchased this jacket but I purchased a second one just like it. So I'll keep them both ! One for our trailer and one for home!

Cute, warm, too small even in XL

        By ame

        from st. louis, mo

        Pros

        • Cute
        • Inside pockets
        • Warm

        Cons

        • Way too tight

        Best Uses

I ordered this in an XL as well as the jacket version and I think both will have to go back. I hoped they would fit me ok and allow for a little wiggle room on size. I loved all the pockets and the fact that it has a metal zipper. I am around a size 16 and can usually get by in XL in just about every line, esp in coats. I could almost not zip these and I tried them on in a tank top! I think if I had the option for a 2XL I might be able to do that fine, but without the option, no such luck.

Great Parka but order a size larger!

          By JessieB

          from NYC

          Pros

          • Flexible Material
          • Roomy-- If Size Larger
          • Warm
          • Water Resistant

          Cons

          • Must Order Larger Size
          • Not made in the USA
          • Zipper's Tricky At First

          Best Uses

I'm glad I ultimately decided to order one size larger on this jacket or I'm afraid it either wouldn't have fit or I wouldn't be able to wear anything bulky underneath. I ordered an XL and was hoping it wouldn't be tremendous. It wasn't. It fits like a Large, so I'd say the jackets run a bit on the small side. Otherwise, it's a wonderful coat. I wish it was maybe 2 inches longer, but that's my own taste. There's room to move. You don't feel like you're wearing a bulky winter coat, and the BEST part-- it actually keeps you warm. My major complaint-- the coat is NOT MADE IN THE USA. If it was, then it would be 5 stars & no doubt.

I love this jacket. I am able to move freely when I'm outdoors getting wood or shoveling. I have been real warm while on my walks. I love all the pockets and I am happy with the color. This was my first purchase from Duluth and I had been looking for a jacket for 3-4 years. I liked the looks of this jacket in the catalog and really took a chance not knowing how the sizes ran, but it was a great purchase!

                • Good and warm
                • Lots of pockets
                • No Static Electricity

                Cons

                • Heavy
                • Upper Pockets Small

                Best Uses

                • Dry cold weather

Although not waterproof, the coat will stand up to a light drizzle or snow flurry. Bought it primarily to avoid static electricity zaps prevalent with nylon, polyester, microfiber coats in dry, cold weather. For that, it works beautifully.
Although heavy, it is comfortable and cozy and does not look bulky. Hopefully, I won't wear it out for a long time.
