Tried this on the Port Washington store and really wanted it like "right now."
Nothing about this cape has disappointed. I never dreamed it would be so warm and yet so comfortable while in stores. Have to admit I love it when strangers say it is lovely and ask where I got it. While the price seems high, I have an idea that it
will last a very long time and always look great. When you are warm just standing
still, you know you have a good thing going.

I bought this jacket for everyday use because I LOVE the design and styling. It's a very "me" kind of jacket and I've received a lot of compliments.

I was concerned that it wouldn't be warm enough because of the giant opening at the bottom and that wind would whip around inside of it. I was quickly proved wrong. The quality material is definitely wind-proof and it's great to wear in the snow and rain, making the wearing of layers very comfortable. The quality of the materials and construction is very apparent.

The ONLY reason I gave this poncho/jacket 4-stars instead of 5 is because one of the rear-toggles used to tighten the back of the hood pulled out almost immediately upon arrival. The way it pulled out suggests that it wasn't stitched into the seam properly. I'm too lazy, and love the jacket to much, to bother sending it back and waiting for a new one to arrive.

      DEFINITELY worth the purchase price.

I've only had it about 2 weeks & I love it. It's not graceful to put on or take off, but it blocks a lot of wind. Having to go outside to smoke, you can sit out in the cold wind & have almost all of your body covered. Very nice. With the hood down, the gussett around the neck may pick up some makeup from your chin, but not a bad tradeoff. I am looking for the wax to make it more wind/water resistant, but I don't have any complaints about it. I expected my boyfriend to laugh at me, but he thought it was cool enough that he might steel it from me. For it to be really "warm" it could use the polar fleece on the entire inside, but it's really pretty good like it is. If they go on sale, I'll get the red one too.

      Not worth the price

      By Devon

I wore this in 50 degree wind driven rain for about an hour. Because it's a cape, it will blow around, leaving your legs exposed. By the way, Fjallraven's website says this hits below the knee, but it just comes to the top of my knee and I'm 5'7" tall with a 32" inseam. The cape soaked through the arms and shoulders, which disappointed me because the write up says the fabric swells when hit with water, rendering it water and wind resistant.. I got it in dark grey, thinking it would be a steel grey, but I would classify it as BLACK, not grey. Though the hood has a reflector, if you don't have the hood up, you're going to fade into low light and be invisible. I was really looking forward to getting this cape, but I have to say, I'm disappointed and don't think it's a good value for the price.

      Disappointing...

      By Debbiedo

      from Southern New England

      Pros

      • Roomy
      • Windproof

      Cons

      • Not waterproof

      Best Uses

I just tested this for about an hour in heavy, wind driven rain, 50 degree temps. I was disappointed to find that water soaked through the sleeves and shoulders. The manufacturer says you can enhance waterpoof and wind proof-ness by using Greenland Wax; I may try that. The pluses: the neck zipper is gusseted, so neither water nor wind seeped through. The hood is roomy and adjustable. There is a secure, small zippered pocket by the neck zipper. The insulation is light enough to make this a versatile garment, but you'll need supplemental insulation in winter.
I got this in grey, which appeared to be a steel color in the photos, but is really black if you ask me That was also disappointing. I wish that this cape had reflectors on it because in low light, you're going to disappear. In my humble opinion, this cape isn't a good value for the price.
