Women's Heirloom Gardening Pants

I love Duluth gardening products for women. I was so excited to get these Heirloom gardening pants. For whatever reason, the manufacturer has provided very little expansion in the waiste which is a real problem since they are pull on. Once you have them on, they are true to fit and a bit baggy which is fine for gardening pants. However, can you imagine if you had to take them off in a hurry - you'd have to rip them to get them off. What a shame. I'm sending them back.

I love the pants. They are cool in hot weather, give one plenty of room to move and have lots of pockets. However, we live in Lyme disease country and I had hoped the elastic at the ankle would help to keep out ticks. It is a little too loose to do this;if I had one suggestion--perhaps some kind of velcro closure would help.
I was impressed at how quickly the pants came and will certainly buy more from Duluth. The quality is always good.

I predominantly wear these for gardening and yard maintenance activities. I love the reinforced knees, and the washability.

The only thing I had to get used to is that the waist adjustment is based on sliding the twill belt rather than any elastic. I'm assuming that this feature will lend to its durability.

I bought these pants so that I would have something to garden in during the spring. They work much better than jeans. I bought the small and should have bought the extra small - I didn't believe that they run true to size but they do. The other reviews were correct about the buckle but it is not really a big deal.

I was disappointed in these pants. They are so stiff. I can use them for gardening if I'm standing or kneeling but sitting in them is very uncomfortable. They don't give at all. I won't buy another pair.

I use these pants every time I head for the garden--and since I'm one to spill things, these pants repel water (and compost) wonderfully!!... I didn't mind the belt at all, and the pockets are perfect (deep enough). The elastic on the bottom was a bit loose, so I just put a dot of velcro to close... And I like these pants so much, I bought another pair for a gardening friend for their birthday!

The pants fit fine standing up, but they are not loose enough in the knee area to bend especially with knee pads, this defeats the whole purpose with a gardening pant!

I garden a lot and it's soooo nice to have the built-in knee-pad holders.I bought the knee pad inserts and they are MUCH better than dragging around a kneeling pad . These pants are well-made with lots of pockets. However, it would really be nice if they came in a petite length so I wouldn't have to (a) keep hitching up the legs to get the knee pads in the right place, (b) pulling up the waist because the rise is too long, and (c) rolling up the pants legs. Even with these complaints, I love these pants. They make gardening a lot more comfortable for my 60+ year old knees.

I understand why the reviewers had problems with the belt, but it isn't that big of a deal for the quality of the pants. They run very large and long, to the point that the belt and the elastic gathering at the legs don't matter. I am 5'5", 115 lbs and don't feel that any of the offered sizes work for me.

I like the pants. They are lightweight but seem strong. I'm not at all sure how to get knee pads that fit the pockets sewn into the pants. Can't find them in a search of your web site.
