Duluth comes through again

I wear these pants for every day stuff as-well-as wearing for causual outings. On previous jeans that I'd ordered from Duluth, I didn't like the zippers because they always fell down. This problem seems to have been corrected. I like the large cargo pockets where my iPhone (in a folding case) fits very nicely.

      Too long a boot cut

      By Cat rescuer

      from New London, CT

Nice pants but I ordered the 31 as I am 5'3" and the standard petite length is too short so thought this length might be good but they were way too long. I also do not like boot cut pants. They do sit slightly below the waist which is good. I am sending them back and not ordering a shorter size as I only like straight leg pants.

These pants are pretty awesome! I bought them because my friends have had pairs for years and LOVE them. I can see why - they're comfortable, repel water (and therefore stains), and look nice. I spent last weekend crawling around on the roof (tar shingles) cleaning the gutters, and the rough shingle texture doesn't seem to have affected them at all (I was kneeling). They are definitely nice-looking pants, but I don't think you could get away wearing to on a "business casual" kind of job - they are a little too utilitarian for that (mainly because of the pockets).

Two things to note: (1) The texture/feel of the pants is a bit plastic-y - I realize the name says firehose pants, but they feel more like nylon than cotton. I'm not sure if that would make them better for hot weather or worse than jeans or other cotton fabric. The seemed pleasantly warm for the fall season. (2) The other thing is that these pants get terribly wrinkled in the wash - the wrinkles kind of come out out in the dryer, but not when you line-dry them. This could be a result of the type of fabric, but makes them a little less easy-care than I'd like (who wants to iron or decide to look wrinkly?).

Finally a company that cares about women

I have been wearing a different brand of women's work pants for years because they were the only women's work pants I can find in stores. You can probably guess the one. I recently lost some weight and discovered that, despite offering the size on their website and every affiliate website I have ever seen, size 2 double-front dungarees simply didn't exist. Like, somehow the INTERNET was sold out of them. Unbelievable.

I Googled "women's work pants" and Duluth came up. I browsed this very site you are on right now. I read the profiles of the Duluth Women. I perused the pants selection. I drank some whiskey. I decided to "faith" purchase these pants having never tried them on or heard anything about them.

These are the best work pants I have ever worn. I restore stream habitat in the Pacific Northwest and work in the field 100% of the time. I am constantly kneeling in the dirt, climbing into the bed of an F350, squatting, reaching, getting snagged by thorns and branches, getting stung and bit by bugs, and generally getting filthy. Unlike the-unamed-other-brand pants, these pants are durable without feeling like cardboard wrapped in burlap. They have true sizing - my normal pants size is a 4 and my Duluth pants size is a 4. They fit around my waist like normal pants are supposed to do, unlike other-brand pants that feel like they come up to just below my bra. They are attractive and do not fade immediately like other-brand pants.

I have only owned these pants for a few weeks now, but I have been wearing them exclusively since I bought them. Long-term, I look forward to seeing how the inner thigh holds up, since that has been where pretty much every single pair of pants I have ever had has failed.

I like these pants. They would be great around the farm, but I work in an office and wear them to work with a nice shirt or sweater. They are comfortable and wash very nicely.

I wear these pants to work at a museum. During the day I have to do a variety of tasks from guiding, cleaning, gift shop sales and working with natural fibers. I have lots of opportunities to get dirty but still have to maintain a neat appearance to be a guide.

            Love the pants

Cons-- shrinks too much 33 became a 31 length after washing in warm water. The side pockets are useless. I squeezed my Samsung 5 into the side pocket, getting it back out was almost impossible. The zipper on the other side pocket makes it impossible to use it. The pocket is too tight and you scratch things you put into that pocket or your hands trying to get things back out. Redesign the pockets add to buy a longer size to account for the shrinkage and you have a winner. The reason I bought these pants were that they have the side pockets.

                  Cons

                    Best Uses

                    • Outdoor work

I am a horse vet, and I am always on the look out for clothing that is attractive and professional but will stand up to the rigors of the job. These pants are perfect. The fabric is on the heavy side but seems to resist dirt and other debris. They are wrinkle-free out of the dryer and stay that way even when I'm sitting in the truck for half the day. The cargo pockets are quite useful though they do decrease the overall 'professionalism' of the look, at least for my job.

Waist is a little higher than I usually go for (I'm 33y, and tend towards lower-rise options) but they are still attractive and it's easier to tuck in shirts (and keep them tucked in). Extremely comfortable and easy to move around in, squat down in, etc. They are a tad on the baggy/loose side but not more so than the picture indicates, and this makes for easy layering of long-underwear in the winter. It is also heavenly to finally find a pant with an inseam that is long enough! Thank you for the 35" option!
