Comments about Marble's Pin-on Compass:

The bracket and pin is mounted on the wrong side causing the compass to rest in an unreadable position. The indicator takes a long while to settle to position for a reading. I am a hunter ,fisherman, trapper in Northern WI and use a compass on a daily basis. Don't trust your life with this compass. It is not like the original Marble's that your grandpa owned.

Comments about Marble's Pin-on Compass:

I am forever getting turned around and lost when I am biking. Never had a good sense of direction and this compass is perfect for my needs. Small enough that it does not take up a lot of space yet always helps me find my way home.

Comments about Marble's Pin-on Compass:

I had this compass on one of my pack's straps and it worked great the first two times out. Then when I went to reference it one time it was gone! All I had was the brass. The compass part was lost. Lucky I wasn't.

      Comments about Marble's Pin-on Compass:

It will find North, but the quality is not like the originals which were made in Gladstone Michigan. I think this current version is imported from China(?) The screw off cover reveals a plastic compass. The mounting bracket is attached to the housing with only one rivet, instead of two. The most blatent mistake is that the pin is attached to the wrong side of the bracket. The originals were somewhat hard to read because they were top heavy, but this version, because of the improperly mounted pin seems to flop around all the time. I ended up having to remove the safety pin and putting it on the other side of the bracket, and that helps a bit, but it is still top heavy. This new Marbles did not come with any "pinning onto your shirt" instructions. All I could do was reverse the pin to make it a little easier to read. And the pin itself is not very good. It seems to loose its strength, and I have to rebend it occassionally to keep it properly locked. It does find North though, just like a compass is supposed to

        Comments about Marble's Pin-on Compass:

I've been looking for a REALLY GOOD pin on compass for some time...not those cheap ones you can get. Marbles I think have been making these since before the Stone Age and it shows in the quality and functionality. There is only one thing that would make it better. A hinge so you could flip it up and down. My Dad used to have one like that for hunting so that it didn't get caught on brush or get in the way of your weapon handling. Not a big thing but when you're almost perfect as this pin on compass is, its a shame not go put in the extra $1.

          Comments about Marble's Pin-on Compass:

This compass looks nice, the brass contruction makes it seem like a quality product. But upon closer inspection, it is just a cheap button compass in a brass case. It is slow finding north, and may need to be tapped if not perfectly level. It is not a precision instrument.

I am forever getting lost and cannot find my way around. My sense of direction is null. This small compass just pins on my jacket and I am on the way and can always find my way back.
