Don't agree with the temperture rating

By Michigander

from SW Michigan

Pros

  • Love The Gussets
  • Nice pockets
  • Not Too Heavy In Weight

Cons

  • Sleeves Are Way Too Cold

Best Uses

    COMMENTS:

I like the parka, but it's not as warm as it stated. I bought it so I would have a warm coat to wear when I walk the dog in snow & cold and when I shovel snow. Unfortunately, the sleeves don't keep my arms warm at all. I wish they would have added the same berber to the sleeves that they have in the body of the coat. Even when I layer under it, my arms are still cold. I considered returning it, but decided to keep it for cool fall and spring weather. I do like the pockets and the color and the freedom of movement with the gussets.

I love, love, love this parka!!!

    By Hollyhock

    Pros

    • Exceptionally warm
    • Long - Keeps Tush Cosy
    • Unbelievably Durable

    Cons

      COMMENTS:

This coat makes winter work fun. The length is terrific - no cold blast up your back from bending. I am surprised that you are discontinuing the parka length - having a warm backside is half the battle. I have a husky, and I find myself playing with him way more, instead of rushing through chores and racing back inside. And the fabric is unbeatable - tough, and (apparently) stain-resistant. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend - I bought my mother one!

          A Great Practical Coat

          By Sue

          Verified Buyer

          Pros

          • Nice pockets
          • Quiet fabric
          • Warm

          Cons

          • Bad Hood Strings
          • Bottom Should Be Split

          Best Uses

            COMMENTS:

Great coat that I would buy again. Nice long sleeves! And I love the placement of the hand-warmer pockets. Glad to finally have a "quiet" jacket that does not swoosh, swoosh, swoosh with the every arm-swing.

Personally, I'm not a fan of drawcords at the waist - but they can be ignored.

The two way zipper works great. But, you have to remember to unzip it from the bottom a bit every time you get in the car. (I'm concerned that over time, the zipper might start ripping out. And yes, the jacket is large enough for me. I even bought it slightly larger to accomodate layers.) I'd prefer a "split" bottom and not have the zipper go all the way down.

The biggest drawback: The cord/cord lock on the hood are difficult to use even with bare fingers. Forget about it if you're wearing gloves or mittens.

            I LOVE this coat!

                COMMENTS:

I love this coat! The longest I've really worn it outside was pumping gas. Even in single digit windy weather I was warm. Light rain doesn't seem to be an issue either. I don't know about other things but baby slober/spit-up wipes right off like it was never there. Sleeve length and coat length is great-I'm 5'11" so I have long arms and a long torso. I love all the pockets. I haven't noticed that the sleeves feel narrow or tight as some have said. I like that it is heavy but not bulky. I think it runs pretty true to size. I would definitely recommend this coat!
