      Hot head welcome

      By Farmer Angie

      from Jasper, MO

      Verified Buyer

      Pros

      • Blocks wind
      • Sheds water
      • TOASTY WARM

      Cons

      • Lets Bitter Wind In

      Best Uses

      • Protects From Bitter Cold

I wear my hat daily when I am feeding cattle and horses in winter. It protects my head and keeps it warm so well when I'm out in the elements that I have to take it off when I climb back in the hay truck so my head can cool down a bit. If I were to change anything about it, I'd make the ear flap wrap on around the front an inch further on each side so it doesn't allow the coldest of wind gusts to reach my ears. I have to wear a fleece ear protector underneath it when it's that cold.

      Best Uses

      • Great in the Barn

I like this hat, it stays on in the wind and still shades my eyes. The ear flaps do not cover all my ear, Still need to use my hair to cover the bottom of my ears.

Women's Fire Hose Iron Range Cap

I purchased this hat for me because it was on sale for under $10. And put it in my car for an emergency cold hat. Well, I needed to put something on my head at the farm because the temperature dropped suddenly and the range cap was handy. I LOVE THIS CAP, it is just right for the farm. It is a cap with ear muffs.

            Cute AND warm

              • Ear-flaps" Too Small

              Best Uses

I practically "live" outdoors. Even though I live in a "mild" climate (coastal Calif.), it still gets COLD here.....(As I "speak", it is 41 degrees, daytime, and projected to be 23 degrees tonight!) MANY potted plants are "under-cover"/inside,! This hat is GREAT for when it warms up enough to switch from Duluth's "boiled wool beanie", to this cap.....

                Great Hat

                By Sarah G

                Pros

                • Stylish
                • Warm

                Cons

                • Short Ear Flaps

                Best Uses

I bought this cap because I wanted something that would keep my head warm, keep the wind off my ears, and shade my eyes from the sun. This cap works perfectly for that, though I do wish the earflaps were a touch longer. My ears are very sensitive to the cold wind and I get earaches easily. This cap is essential for me on cold, windy days.

This is a perfect hat for a pin head - just saying! I have a small head and finding a cute cozy hat that doesn't cover my eyes is always a challenge. I love the flaps they aren't giant, they just cover my ears. I can't wait for the winter rains and winds so I can put this to good use.

                          • Working outside

I've had this three-season hat since the fall and it's already a favorite. Use it just about every day to walk the dog and work outside. Available in a range of sizes so actually fits me unlike a lot of other caps. Nice fabric weight - doesn't overheat and the flaps and brim work great in the wind. I like the flat top - a little bit of fun style with the practicality. Disappointed that one of the snaps fell off already, but hopefully I can sew it back on.
