      • Wear While Snorkeling

I almost returned this shirt without trying it, because I absolutely believed there was no way it could be cooler than a short sleeve cotton shirt (there's nothing genteel about my perspiration. However, taking my Scottish-Irish skin to the Jamaican coast for 5 days with no tan build-up had me a little worried. After the 1st day of snorkeling left me with some sunburn even with sunscreen, I decided to snorkel the 2nd day wearing this shirt over my swimsuit. Wow! I never felt the sun through this shirt, even when walking around later in the day. I did not receive any more skin coloration anywhere the shirt covered. I continued to wear it the rest of the day. It dried fairly quickly and while I was warm with it on, I did not "sweat to death" as I would have predicted. I rinsed it out in the sink, squeezed excess water out, and hung it up to dry overnight. It dried with no real wrinkles and I wore it the next day. Repeated that for 2 more days. Got home - discovered the only drawback - I have to remember to wash it and NOT USE SOFTENER. I guess it would diminish the SPF. DLTCo., please make this in other colors and styles!!!

I bought this shirt for gardening and hiking. I was skeptical that it was as cool as the reviewers say, but yes, it definitely is. Also, the fabric doesn't have the synthetic feel that some hiking shirts do and I suspect over time it won't retain perspiration odors as much as many synthetic fabrics do. On the other hand, it doesn't hang out all the wrinkles after drying -- not terribly wrinkly, but a bit wrinkled looking. Be aware that if you have a garden with thorny items (like roses), the thorns may catch on the sleeves and make small pulls. I'm willing to have that happen in exchange for the cool temps, but over time it may tear the shirt. Would buy this again if they had them in stock.

I need the skin protection from the sun and this does the job with least feeling of suffocation. Fabric does tend to be slouchy and thus casual. I would love to see it in other styles (like the Action Shirt - not quite as casual - which I found to be a more stylish shirt, but not nearly as cool feeling). Could this fabric be made into a polo shirt with the same feel? Also, I prefer the pocket on the Action shirt. Needs something in addition to the 'farmer/western' style for me to purchase more.

                • Casual summer wear
                • Summer work wear

Although I was skeptical about this shirt at first, after a few weeks of wear, I'm totally converted. My armachillo shirts are my new go-to summer wear.

Yes, they are very cool. Not quite like wearing a tank top, but I doubt you'll find a long sleeve shirt cooler than this one. Besides, there's the plus of not having to worry about sunburn when you're working outdoors in this. They also fit nicely, and are sufficiently attractive - don't mind wearing them out to dinner or around town. Another plus: they do dry very quickly.

They do wrinkle easily, but the wrinkles seem to fall out with wear. I don't worry about ironing, and my shirts look just fine.

                A few minor cons:

when I'm lifting things above my head/otherwise raising my arms, the shirt seems to really come up. My belly usually ends up exposed. (My pant's waist line is pretty moderate. Not that low, not that high.) Better gussets/longer length might fix this.

Also, when I roll up the sleeves (a feature I really like!), the rolled fabric is just a bit snug. Too much skin contact for a hot summer day. Again, I have pretty moderately sized upper arms.

                Finally: more colors! : )

This shirt keeps you cool and provides great protection from the sun.
It's also stylish and looks great with jeans or cargo pants.
I used it while hiking in Spain and even after being crammed in a backpack, it still looked good. It was frustrating having to change all the buttons, but worth the effort.
It looks much better when buttons are the same color as the shirt.

I love the idea of these shirts and I'm hoping they perform as described. I had to return the raspberry solid size M as it did not fit correctly (which adds $13.90 to the price tag). I normally wear a small to medium in shirts. In the reviews, it was mentioned that it was cool enough to even wear a tank under it, so I ordered the medium. The shirt was snug in the shoulders and there was no way I could wear anything under it, but the sleeves were almost too long and I have long arms. I am wondering if it will require regular ironing because it was quite wrinkled coming out of the package. One thing that particularly struck me wrong was that the buttons were bright white on the dark raspberry color which I didn't care for at all. I returned it for the lighter aqua in size large which I'm hoping will fit okay even if I have to roll the sleeves up.

I live in New Mexico, where the summers are hot and dry. This shirt, with it's silky, cool feel on the skin is perfect for mid-day weed pulling. But because it looks so good you could pair it with a denim skirt and go out on the town later. I can't say enough good about it.

Loved the shirt so much, I just ordered another. This is my new favorite! The fit is loose and comfortable, but slenderizing. The colors are great, though I wish there was more choice. It's perfect for a hot day in the sun followed by an evening out.

I bought this shirt to wear when I wanted a little dressier look than a t-shirt. It's design is casual but dressy and can be worn with a skort, jeans, capris or shorts. I found that the fabric doesn't breathe and prefer a shirt with more cotton material. It's a very nice shirt though!

                    • Hot sunny days

I got the Raspberry color, on a sale. I live in Denver, so usually a dry heat. I tried it while spending the afternoon at the zoo. It was mid 80s. I felt odd wearing a long sleeved shirt in the heat, but I really do think it kept me cooler. Oddly, I think it worked better when it was sunny. Late afternoon, it started to cloud up and I felt warmer. Or maybe it was getting more humid so I felt warmer. But it's a nice alternative to being exposed. I do think I felt cooler than when I wear a white cotton long sleeved peasant blouse. I like the way it looks, so will be happy to wear it whenever. Also seem to be stain resistant. I'd spilled a little root beer float on myself. Had a 2 inch mark. After it was already dried, I rubbed it with a paper towel soaked in cold water, and voila - the spot was gone!
