Comments about Boker Plus Baby Bat Knife:
This knife apparently comes in 2 sizes and has been made of various steels. The Duluth version is the smaller version, which is good if one worries about problems with the law. The knife has also been made with Chinese, Swedish steels, in addition to German/American 440c. The Duluth version is made with the best of these steels, 440c, which is powder coated. 440c, though not a new "super steel", is completely acceptable.
I agree that bizarre blade shapes are often useless, but not this one. I don't know why this knife is advertised by some as a tactical knife. It is certainly not suited to stabbing or penetration, but does excel at cutting. Its scary looks are not objectionable. I will carry this as an EDC, because I walk in the woods on a daily basis and run into multi flora rose (thorn) bushes all the time. This knife is a compact tool to open up a paths, or to cut away these nasty plants that grab onto my clothes or skin. I can see it will be indispensible for deer, turkey and mushroom hunting. The scalloped hawkbill blade grabs stalks and is unlikey to slip off. The kinife is truly superior for cutting fibrous materials, even stalks that are starting to turn woody.
