I use this lock to secure the spare tire in the bed of my pickup. I use it together with a chain. The chain provides a physical deterrent while this lock ups the ante by threatening to make noise. This lock would also be useful inside the garage to lock motorized garden equipment together (tiller, mower, edger, chain saw etc); once inside a garage most burglars are not expecting additional locks. I view this lock as an ideal second tier device rather than as a primary lock.

This is a great idea to combine a lock with an alarm! Why no one has thought of this until now? The design is very clever in my opinion. I bought an 8ft to secure gear in the back of my pick up. Using the wall bracket that comes with it I was able to mount the lock onto the bed of my truck so everything I secure with the cable is anchored down. I love the fact if a theif starts to cut the cable the super loud alarm will almost certainly scare them off. I've now bought the longer 15ft for use in my garage to secure my power tools. Great product!
