    Love This Coat, But.....

    By Pavareata

    from Damariscotta, Maine

    Pros

    • Easy movement
    • Great hood
    • Great Windblocker
    • Warm

    Cons

    • Unlined Sleeves

    Best Uses

Love the warmth this coat supplies in the windy cold of Maine. It doesn't restrict movement and is a good length for coverage. My only complaint is getting my arms in the sleeves! Since the sleeves aren't lined, I find it difficult to get my arms in when wearing flannel, sweaters, or fleece. It would be nice if they could line the sleeves with polyester to make getting on/taking off easier.

I bought this because my older coat had become too big after a major weight loss.
The color is gorgeous. I got the eggplant and it's a very nice shade of purple.
The size is 2x. It fits snug. It would almost be too tight in the shoulder for me except it has a bit of stretch in it and after I get it on I can adjust the shoulders to fit right.
The material is very warm. I cannot feel the wind hitting me at all.
I do wish the hood was removable, it is not. I like having a hood but it's not really needed all the time and it tends to feel like it's pushing my head forward when I'm driving.
I really love the coat, but I think I might have opted for the one without a hood if I were to do it over just for personal preference.
Overall the coat delivers exactly what it advertised.

I enjoy wearing this coat, I normally wear the XL in the Cortland Quilted coat. XL was too big around the hips in Shoreline fleece, easy return for size Large, now the fit is "just right" even with a sweater. I agree with a previous review the Zipper is difficult to begin, sometimes it takes 3 tries. Duluth Women, please fix this in future coat versions. Due to zipper issues, I awarded 4 stars.

I was going to use this as a barn coat. The stand up collar and attached hood does an awesome job of keeping the wind off your neck. It just isn't warm. I was looking for a durable, lightweight coat that would be easy to work in and keep me warm and dry. This coat appears durable and it is lightweight and it does keep most of the wind out. It's just not warm. I tested it in 30 degree windy weather and it just didn't cut it for me. I think it needs an insulating layer to make it perfect. I will be returning it.

              • Dog Walking
              • General use

I needed a light-weight jacket to handle the cold West Texas winds (15-40mph not uncommon) but still breathe. The only real rain we've had was when the package came, but this handles fog and drizzle fine. I was comfortable in the 40s with light winds, then the Polar Vortex hit. Very impressed. Mid 30s and windchill low 20s, I was fine walking the dog wearing over a 3/4 sleeve longtail T and stocking cap. Below 30 and windchill 11, I added a lightweight sweatshirt and was fine. Sitting in those temps, another/thicker layer (or heavier coat) would've been needed. The fabric is 2 layers low-pile microfleece sandwiched around the weatherproofing, so it's stiffer than regular fleece but soft to hand and holds shape nicely. The hood is sized to fit over a stocking cap, ball cap or ponytail. Without a hat and cinched down, the brim is low, but kept mist off my glasses. Took a minute to figure out the plastic toggle system, but they work. Didn't think I'd like the stand-up collar, but keeps wind out nicely. Fit: I'm 5'2" and 175 lbs, so short and wide, 44" widest part bust and 46" hips. I like XL in the longtail Ts, so got an XL here. Very happy with the fit. Can zip full length without binding when standing with room for layers under (see above). Sleeves hit me mid-knuckle, but I'm used to it and I can fist my hands in to keep warm when I forget gloves. I like the straight cuff for wearing over gloves, but if you want elastic, a simple opening in the hem stitching would do it. I found the sleeves roomy in the upper arms. Lined sleeves would help; my Ts shake down fine, but getting off over my flannel shirt was a chore. Maybe use the same fabric as the pockets, which are huge, but need another inch or so on the zipper opening. The two-way zip is a must for this length, and there's a wind flap on the inside under it - yay! Zipper isn't as heavy as I expected, but works. I need to pay closer attention when starting than with a heavier one, but it hasn't broken on me. The quality of the construction is superb. I am extremely pleased to have found this quality with so many features for under $100. The quality and features would be $125-$150 at most sportswear labels. I got the deep turquoise (and many compliments), and have since gotten the matching ear band for days when the hood is overkill.

              • Out Of Doors Work

This coat is very well-made, stylish and not bulky, yet is very warm. The medium is a perfect fit (I wear size 8 clothing), and allows room for a sweater or thick top underneath. I like the longer length also. My only negative is that the drawstring at the neck does not draw the collar/hood in much.
Shipping was fast. Product arrived before projected delivery time.

This jacket is more than I hoped for!! It is warm but breathable and is very comfortable to move in. It blocks the wind like no other of the big brand name fleece jackets I've had in the past. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for casual wear that even in larger sizes looks neat and trim without sacrificing warmth. It is higher priced and the tighter fabric doesn't give a fluffy, plush feel but who needs that anyway?

                    • Late Fall Weather

I purchased this coat recently and haven't worn it much yet, but it seems great on moderately cold days (above freezing). I like that it's soft, lightweight and not bulky. Also love the deep pockets and hood. It is definitely windproof, as advertised. I choose red and love the shade. The only down sides for me are the double zipper (I always have trouble with those!) and that it seems like it would be too tight under the arms to wear a thick sweater.

Was looking for a lightweight yet "hearty" fleece jacket. This is it, plus it is true to Duluth's long tail and covers it all, keeps the wind and rain out and is perfect for everyday use.
