Want to love it, but it doesn't really fit...

By Teacher Lady

Pros

Cons

  • Pocket layout decreases interior space when used
  • Weird handles

Best Uses

COMMENTS:

I really want to love this bag but it doesn't quite "fit". I was looking for a durable bag that I could use for everything. I need to be able to carry my surface tablet, iPad, wires, mouse and external drive for work and still have room for papers, my moleskin notebook, water bottle and the odds and end you carry in your purse. It's a tall order, but I wanted to transition from my aging backpack. I have a great purse which fits most everything, but the tablet barely fits and I don't have room for a bottle. I thought this might be a better more durable option. However, the water bottle side pockets are too small and only fit a small reusable bottle. The space gets smaller when you put things into the interior of the bag. The same is true for the front outside zip pocket, which forces you to choose what to leave behind because there isn't enough space. The sleeve for a suitcase handle is pretty much not useable although I could safety pin it closed, bit it's the same problem as the front zip pocket. Another useable pocket to put papers in would be better. There is no need to have zippers closing the sleeve which could be on the outside of that pocket . The flap pocket is great, but I wish it had a push buckle close instead of a pretty weak magnet. When I'm slinging the bag around I don't trust that things won't fall out. Lastly, the handles are a weird length. Too short to go over the shoulder comfortably, too long to carry the bag in your hand. I love the look of the bag but I would still have to carry a purse when I use it, so I will probably wind up returning it. I wish they would make an oilcloth version of their backpack.

Perfect Commuting Bag

Pros

  • Comfortable Strap
  • Good Strap Length
  • Lots of Pockets

Cons

    COMMENTS:

I am one of those women who has everything in her bag. If you need a handkerchief, I have two. If you need a band aid, I can offer you antibacterial ointment and a selection of sizes and colors of bandage. Hungry? I have trail mix. This bag has made my commuting to and from work so much easier. I have room to stash my lunch bag as well as all of the detritus that I normally carry. I didn't have a panic attack when I noticed the sun had changed the gray color a bit. I didn't freak out when I scratched the fabric on a door lock. I just sling the bag over my head and head towards whatever train or bus I need to catch. Admittedly, I don't carry my laptop, but it holds every other portable electronic item I own. I love this bag so much because it carries so much but doesn't weigh a ton.

    COMMENTS:

I ordered the brown and was presently surprised by the quality when I received it. I normally gear towards pebbled leather but I took a chance based on the design of the bag on oil cloth. The bag is GREAT but - it's too small for what I need - it needs to be an inch or two wider and if you add stuff to the interior pockets they expand into the interior of the bag and limit space. In additional, I cannot fit my computer which is only 14" wide into the padded area. I'm keeping the bag as a daily purse, computer/work bag but I still have to take a lunch bag. My computer goes in the center area and my purse "stuff" goes into the padded section. Any files that I may carry also go into the center area. The other "con" is the bottom zipper which allows the bag to slip onto a pull suitcase does not stay closed as mentioned in numerous other reviews so if you use it for storage it will open - and I use it for a notepad and pens. I actually took a safety pin to the interior of the bag that I positioned across the zipper to the far left of the zipper to keep it from unzipping. You can't even tell the pin in there since I pinned it from inside.

    COMMENTS:

Needed a second, easily-carried bag along with my backpack. This bag will sling over the shoulder and not be obtrusive. In this manner, the side pockets are easily accessed for light rail pass and/or company ID badge.
I wish the side pockets were a little larger so my tea carafe would fit securely.

Lots of pockets, easy to carry, holds a lot of stuff (i.e.: tablet, wallet, cosmetic purse, pens, snacks). During the winters snow, moisture can ruin expensive bags, so this is perfect.
