Fit issues

The fabric the shirt is made of feels like it would've done just what I am looking for in hot, hot weather as an alternative to a shirt made by another company that had been my standby for years till that company changed the cut of the garment. But the fit here is not for my body shape unless it's tucked in, which would defeat my purpose. I need something to wear untucked in very hot, humid weather. The shirt tails are longer than I thought, going by the Internet photos, and the shirt itself was far too long for me and it's cut very straight. I'm 5 feet 2 inches and pear shaped. I could not button the last button of the shirt if left untucked. Which sometimes looks okay and I'll leave a shirt that way but couldn't pull it off with this one. It looked great on another woman trying on the shirt--she tall and had a straight build through the hips. Duluth Trading, it would be awesome if your designers would do a style without shirttails in a length for shorter women with hips.

I was really excited about receiving these shirts (I bought 3 of them). I love the plaids - they are beautiful! The fit and the way they flatter the body are amazing. BUT I wore it to do work around the house on a warm day and the shirt did nothing to wick perspiration. In fact, I felt as if I were wearing a plastic bag instead of a shirt. It was terrible! I couldn't wait to get the shirt off!

I love the idea of this shirt, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Unless you are extremely short in the body and as thin as a stick, the shirt won't look great. And the pockets? Please, who puts undersized pockets on a woman's chest? The pockets are not big enough to be useful and so detract from the look. And watch out groundhogs, when we lean over to garden, we will be mooning you! Overall, while the shirt feels cool to the touch, it is waaaaay too short and too narrow in the shoulders, bust, and body. As long as you don't care if you look oddly like a woman in a too-small mens' shirt, go ahead and buy it. But if Duluth wants my advice, they'll go back to the drawing board with a full-sized dress form!

          Really Like the Shirt

I bought this shirt to wear with the dry on the fly pants. I like to fish but I have very fair skin. This shirt keeps the sun off of me and still lets me be cool and dry. I mainly use these shirts to fish and hike and sightsee, any activity where I will be exposed to the sun for long periods of time. The shirt does wrinkle when washed. They are very small ripples that give the shirt a little texture. If you are looking for crisp, look elsewhere. I haven't tried to iron it. For the activities I use the shirt for, a little texture does not matter.

          Cool in the Floirda Heat

Love this shirt, I wore it all day in the Florida heat and any sweat evaporated away and it was actually cooling!!! It was great that I didn't look like I was rolling around in the dirt by the end of the day.

The flip up collar was great and it stayed up and I didn't even notice it. Wonderful to keep the sun off my neck.

Although most of the reviews said it ran small I found it about true to size. The cost is high but I have paid around the same for other high end cooling riding shirts.

Cool, light, and nice colors but looks terrible after it's washed. Even when ironed, it puckers and looks frumpy and disheveled. Cooler than the Sidewinder, but you pay for that in wrinkles that will not come out. It's comfortable, but it won't do as a multi-purpose shirt.

I have sensitive skin so have to wear long sleeves when I work in the garden. This shirt is perfect to protect my arms without roasting me alive. I love the way it moves with me, allows my body to breathe, and covers my hind end while I bend over my plants. And I like that the shirt is attractive! I have the blue check and will buy another when they go on sale.

            Almost perfect

It's comfortable, looks great out of the dryer, and I love the plaids. The negatives are that the shirt pockets aren't deep enough to button over my iphone, and the labels at the back of the neck are terribly scratchy. They drove me crazy until I could get home to remove the shirt and cut the labels out. But after wearing the first shirt I ordered, I ordered another one so the negatives are very minor!

I didn't think I'd like this shirt--I'm a longtime wearer of natural fabrics. But this is quickly becoming my go-to shirt this spring for lounging indoors and out, gardening, hiking, and camping.

It's comfy, attractive enough to pass at the grocery store or a pub, and I just *love* the added features that others have already mentioned in detail. I have a medium build and am proportional in the chest, and the fit is perfect for me. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I think it's a perfect spring/summer shirt for this climate.

I do wish the colors were a bit more neutral; I never got why women's clothing and shoes) seem to have to be pink, purple, "sherbert" colors like teal instead of blue, and other stereotypical "feminine" colors.

I also concede that it's a bit pricey, but I think it's durable, it's easy to wash and dry, and if you are a little wrinkle tolerant, you'll love its cool, silky feeling.

I totally hear others who complain about the wrinkling. This is not ever going to be a crisp shirt. I am lucky that I can wear it to work, and I consider the crinkly texture of it a feature, not a bug.

Read what others say--there are loads of great comments about humidity, the fit for anyone who's not slim/medium build, or anyone with biceps. If you're a person with real upper arms, I am not sure how this shirt would work. It's a bit tight in that area even for those of us with less juicy/muscular parts.

All in all, for the right climate and build, if the cost doesn't put you off, I think this is a terrific shirt. The amount of time that I wear and rewear it is proof enough for me. It's well made and comfortable.
