STORY
A good cast-iron pan is one of the most invaluable tools you can have in your kitchen — nothing compares to the way they retain heat and hold up over years of use. This scaled-up version of the Field Company’s original revolutionary American-made cast-iron skillet features more room for cooking, and at eight pounds is still far lighter than your typical cast iron. The incredibly smooth pre-seasoned surface stacks up to the best Wagner or Griswold, delivering an almost no-stick finish and a perfectly even sear.
Stephen and Chris Muscarella founded Field Company in response to a deceptively simple question: can modern cast iron ever live up to its predecessors? Thin-walled, smooth, and virtually non-stick, all the finest features of vintage cast iron seemed to elude contemporary manufacturers. Not the kind to shy away from a challenge, the brothers worked closely with American iron foundries to enhance traditional production methods and create some of the lightest and finest hand-poured cast iron cookware available today.
