Weatherproof Enough for Alaska’s Greatest Irony
The Fairweather mountain range was named a few hundred years back during an unusual stretch of fine, sunny days. Since then it’s been dumping buckets – the mountains get over a hundred inches of precipitation a year. When the weather is ready to pull a bait-and-switch like that, it’s best to gear up in a jacket like this. It’s lightweight, locks out biting wind, and is pocket packed – the right stuff for a good all-round spring jacket. But it’s also equipped with a waterproof/breathable barrier and critically seam sealed at the head and shoulders. When a storm rolls over the mountain and you’re caught in the open, just unfurl the “Oh S**t” hood stored in the collar and go unfazed on your way. Alaska’s sense of humor may be cruel on occasion, but it’ll be you having the last laugh.
