No soggy feet! Pecard's "Never Leak" leather dressing
For most of us, wet feet are an inconvenience. For Admiral Byrd on his 1928 trek to the South Pole, dry boots were a matter of life and death. Nearly 100 years ago, he chose to protect, preserve and waterproof his expedition's leather goods with the same formula explorers, loggers and tradesmen still swear by today: Classic Leather Dressing. Just apply the rich paste in light coats until a thin layer of dressing remains on the leather's surface, then gently buff to melt the paste to repel water and dust. The oils in the dressing also lubricate and plump up the leather fibers to prevent binding or abrading – adding to the suppleness and life of boots, work belts, jackets, tack, holsters and more. Before your next heroic expedition (or day on the job), prepare with the protective paste that's survived Antarctica: Pecard Leather Dressing.
