Say Goodbye to dog stink!

By Carzy Mom

from Michigan

I pulled the stinky, hairy cover off to wash and the mattress inside still smelled new! No dog stink! Absolutely awesome!

I purchased this for our new puppy last year. He is a big boy, 92 pounds of pure muscle and love. This beg fit perfect in his cage. The overall durability, thickness as well as super tuff material bring me here to purchase a second bed. I at the same time bought a comparable bed from Kong, boosted same features. It is trash, corners torn from baby teeth chewing, flat and dirty. This is an investment bed but worth the money.

    Cons

    • Merely moisture repellant
    • Noisy

Title. Four main points of issue, for me and my dogs:

~The pillow (the white thing filled with white stuff that is zipped inside the "fire hose" liner) came overstuffed. Granted, I understand that the idea may be that the stuffing will compress over time. But nonetheless: I had to cut it open and remove over half the stuffing for my Lab to even consider laying on it. Sealed it with ductape and put the extra stuffing in a garbage bag for theorized future use. It really ought to have a zipper or something if it's gonna have that much stuffing in it.

~It's long, but not wide, if that makes sense. I'll take the fall for this, as I should have checked the dimensions before I bought it, but still, seems like an "extra large" dog bed should have enough room for at least most of the length of a Lab's legs when the dog lays sideways, which it does not. Needs to be more than 24" for sure.

~It is *not* "nearly soundless." There is, in fact, *much* rustling (though not so much rattling, I suppose) when my Lab makes himself comfortable. In my experience at least, saying otherwise may as well be false advertising. Didn't have this problem with the last pillow he had, which I think was, at most, half the price.

~And probably most significantly, the liner is not waterproof, despite being inaccurately dubbed a "fire hose" bed. Our Bernese Mountain Pup decided to mark on it, and a bit soaked through to the pillow. To the liner's credit, only about 20%-30% made it through, but I don't think actual fire hose would have that issue. Keyword used in product description: "Repellant." I guess it's like with smartphones; water repellant vs waterproof. Except this isn't a smartphone. It's a "fire hose" dog bed.

TL;DR: Too dang much stuffing, too small to be extra large, rather noisy, not waterproof, and therefore not worth an entire Benjamin. I probably could have gotten something of the same usefulness, for way less money, from my local PetSmart.

After 2 weeks, the year old puppy started chewing on the bed. We called customer service who said to send it back that they would replace it. We are waiting for it as I type.
