    COMMENTS:

Bought a pair to wear skiing. I had Velcro added to the front pockets. The waist runs a bit large, they would fit well over other pants, so I ordered a second pair a size smaller and they fit very well. I will add Velcro to the front pockets before using them on the slopes. I added Camp Dry to them to improve the water resistance. They are warm with a base layer under them.
I like the styling and rugged material they are made of.

    COMMENTS:

Bought these for my husband 2 years ago and he wears them for snowboarding, snowmobiling, and working outside. He loves them, but his biggest complaint is no zippered pockets! This seems like a very big oversight to me for any outerwear, especially one that is supposedly designed with practicality and function in mind! If you work or play outside in the snow, there is NOTHING worse then realizing you lost something from your pocket. Chances of finding your keys or wallet on the ski hill or in the woods in 4 feet of snow that won't melt until April? Zero. Deep into the second season wearing these regularly in the northern Maine winter and they are still looking great. They are warm and durable, and I love the simple, neutral styling. Speaking of warmth, he would also appreciate thigh vents found on most snow pants. I would get him a second pair....IF you redesigned the pockets and add vents! Duluth, these are good but could be better!

        COMMENTS:

I bought these pants for winter work and ATV riding. The pants were great for the first month I had them, but the first time I used them in the rain I found out they are not water poof. I went riding in 40 degree weather while it was raining. After a short period I had to come back because I was freezing cold. Once I took off the pants every other layer I had was soaked. The pants failed at the one thing I needed.
Don't buy these if you are looking for water poof pants!

            COMMENTS:

This is from the perspective of a 100+ days/year skier and patroller:

These are fantastic ski pants for this price point, my family and I have purchased about six pair over the past couple years. There is nothing out there close to their price that are as good.

Warm? With the appropriate base layer, they're comfortable to -20F. They're fairly waterproof, but if you Scotch Guard them between washes, they're totally waterproof, even during east coast January rains, and the Scotch Guarding means you can go 20 or more days between washings.

Tough? I have a pair that's still holding up after 150 days on the mountain, and I ski tight trees with needles and sharp branches pretty much every day, sometimes all day. The available knee pads are also nice for protection, and keeping a buffer between you and the snow when you're kneeling while working on an injured person.

I've noticed some variability in design between years, last year's model had an inside cuff snap that did not fit around a ski boot, so I just cut it off. This year's model fits around my boots just fine. I've also received two pair in which the stitching for a back pocket, and on the other, the tool loop, stared to pull out immediately. Duluth replaced them without any hassle.

My wish is that Duluth would add zippers to the front pockets. Pockets without zippers are pretty useless on the hill.

If you ski or ride, get a pair. They'll serve you for years.

                COMMENTS:

I bought these pants when I couldn't get the overalls because they were out of stock. I wear them in the woods while working on snowmobile trails and other trails in the woods. I also wear them while riding snowmobiles at least I did until I finely got the overalls. I would recommend them for any kind of outside work when it's cool or damp.
