Pattern needs adjustment

COMMENTS:

I really wanted to like these pants but I had to return them. Most other brands have inseams in 32 and 34 inches. So I was excited to be able to get a pair of convertible pants with a 30 inch inseam. I guess all the other brands figure you need to be 6ft plus to enjoy the outdoors.
Unfortunately the pattern needs to be adjusted for smaller sizes. I'm about 5'9" and 165lbs with a 34 inch waist. There was so much extra fabric around the thighs and legs it gave me a look reminiscent of M.C. Hammer's parachute pants of the 90's. Serious diaper but look. I thought maybe I could wear them just for hiking but the extra fabric actually make them a little uncomfortable because it would bunch up and get in the way.
Those folks who are taller and have larger builds would probably be perfectly fine with these pants. I would really like a trim fit version of these. If Duluth does come out with a better fit version I will be looking forward to ordering a pair.

Caution - Legging Zipper Failure

By The Walinator

from Springfield, VT

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Great Color
  • Great Fit

Cons

  • Poor quality zippers

Best Uses

  • Casual Wear

COMMENTS:

I was quite pleased until legging zippers failed, rendering them useless as convertible pants. That was after about 6 times of converting them and probably 8 or 9 times going thru the wash. While wearing them as shorts is okay, I bought them for convertibility. As such they are a cheap failure that do not meet my expectations or need.

    COMMENTS:

Pants are comfortable. I like the elastic on the cuff, though it has no means of keeping it cinched up. Seem to keep bugs off. Nice deep pockets

      COMMENTS:

I have been wearing convertible pants since they came out. I am 6'5", usual size for pants 38-35 ( a size that doesn't exist). These are perfect for "that size" many of us have. NOTE. WASHED THEM AT COOL WATER...DRIED IN DRYER LESS THAN 5 MINUTES...They kept their size.
I just ordered another pair. Good luck.

      COMMENTS:

The waist and the length seem true to size but the crotch and the thighs run smaller than other pants I have purchased from you. I love the pants - the bug resistance, and the zip-off feature! I appreciate the style so that I can wear them to casual outings and not just for outdoor activities.
