STORY
There is no set of tools better designed for efficiency and pure cutting ability than our Japanese Hatchets - they comprise the perfect arsenal for confronting untamed wilderness. We teamed up with an esteemed forge in Sanjo to develop the right blade: high-carbon steel is laminated between hot-rolled low-carbon steel for utmost sharpness and durability. A black-oxide coating on the spine, sandblasted to a “pear skin finish,” anticipates a life of heavy work in damp environments, and resists binding during splitting. Our Japanese canvas blade roll protects the keen edges during transportation and allows all four to be carried simultaneously in a rucksack. Each blade is emblazoned with the Best Made mark of excellence; with the full set at your disposal there is always a right choice for the job.
NOTE
Established in 1943, our bladesmith has produced these hatchets since 1977 in Sanjo, Japan, a legendary ironworking region.
